Sheepy’s Driving School

TERMS & CONDITIONS OF SERVICE

General conduct

  1. I will be polite, courteous, tidy, and punctual. I will always behave professionally and ethically.

  2. My car is fitted with dual controls and is fully insured for driving tuition purposes. There is a no-smoking policy in the car at all times.

Qualifications

• I am legally authorised by the Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency (DVSA) to give driving tuition. Safety and Well-being

  • Safety is a shared responsibility as identified below:

  • In the interests of Safety and comfort, you are advised to wear appropriate footwear and clothing to the

    lesson.

  • It is important that you act responsibly at all times and give your full attention whilst in the car.

  • In an emergency situation, it is important that you listen to my instructions and allow me to take full control.

This could be using the dual controls or taking control of the steering wheel or gear lever. I will explain

afterwards why I have had to do this.

  • You must advise me on any medication you are taking that may affect your driving. You can search the Gov

website for the list of medications.

  • If at any point in your driving lesson you show signs of not being able to concentrate due to illness,

tiredness, or emotional distress, I reserve the right to terminate the lesson, plan, or agreement. This is to keep you, me, and the public safe. You may still be charged for the lesson duration.

    Driving under the Influence

• I reserve the right to cancel any lesson if you are or I suspect you are under the influence of drugs or alcohol. (Legal or prescribed). This is to ensure the safety of you, me, and other road users. You would also be charged for the duration of the lesson.

Lesson amendment or cancellation

  • Lessons MUST be booked and paid for, no later than the Sunday before your lesson. If you are unable to pay before then, please notify me, and an agreement will be put in place. If there has been no contact from you for 2 weeks or more, I reserve the right to remove you from my student list without notification.

  • You will forfeit or will be required to pay for any lessons booked in my diary that are amended or cancelled by you with less than 48 hours' notice.

  • You are required to check into the Total Drive app 24 hours before your lesson. By checking in, you are confirming that you are fit and well with no COVID symptoms/testing positive for COVID. If you do not check in, I assume you are not fit for the lesson, and I will not pick you up, and the lesson will still be charged.

  • I reserve the right to cancel or postpone a lesson due to illness or car repairs. You will, however, be refunded or rebooked.

  • Due to inclement weather, I reserve the right to postpone your lesson due to dangerous conditions such as snow and ice. Unfortunately, I cannot be held responsible for any costs incurred because of my postponement of any lesson.

Punctuality

  • It is in your interest to be on time for your lesson. If you are unsure of any lessons booked in the diary, it is your responsibility to check with me or the Total Drive app. This ensures you are not charged for a missed lesson.

  • I will wait for a maximum of 15 minutes past your start time before the lesson will be abandoned. Within this time, I will message you to confirm I have arrived.

  • In any unforeseen circumstances I am delayed, I will make up any lesson time at the end if this is suitable, or it will be added to your next lesson. Sometimes lessons do overrun, and you will not be charged.

    Payments

  • Payments for weekly lessons must be paid for the Sunday before the lesson. If you cannot pay, please notify me and an agreement will be made. If I do not hear from you for 2 weeks, you will be removed from my student list without notification.

  • Payments for block bookings need to be made 2 weeks before the first lesson. The full amount needs to be paid.

  • Payment for semi-intensive or intensive courses needs to be paid in full a month before the first lesson. Monies paid for any lessons or courses are non-refundable in the event you wish to cancel. At this point, a binding agreement has been made between you and I. This does not affect your statutory rights to be provided with the services you have purchased.

    Driving Test

  • Driving tests will be booked by yourself for the Grantham Test Centre if you wish to use my car. If you wish to book anywhere else, you will have to provide your own car and chaperone.

  • Please be aware, driving tests take priority over other lessons.

  • In the interest of public safety, I reserve the right to refuse my training vehicle for your test if, in my opinion, your driving is dangerous, which would result in a fail. I will conduct a mock test 1 month before your test date. If you do not pass this, you will not have my car, and your test will need to be rescheduled if you require me and my training vehicle.

  • In the event we need to either amend or cancel your test, we are required to give the DVSA 10 working days' notice (Not including Sundays and Bank holidays). Failure to give the minimum of 10 working days' notice would result in your fee paid being forfeited.

I cannot be held responsible for any postponement or cancellation of test by you or the DVSA. Or if my car wasn’t serviceable that day.

    Complaints

• In the event of a complaint, I would be extremely grateful if you would allow me, in the first instance, to resolve the matter.

Your statutory rights

• Nothing in these terms and conditions will reduce your statutory rights relating to services provided.
